Your website is not a brochure. It is a list of problems, solved.

Customers cannot find you online
You will never know it happened. There is no missed-call log for a search that ended on somebody else's website, so this loss is completely silent — you simply have a quieter month and no idea why.
Search your trade plus your town in a private window. Are you anywhere on the first page?

Customers do not trust you
The enquiry that never arrives. Nobody emails to tell you they did not trust you — they quietly choose somebody else, and you never learn you were in the running.
Is there a photograph of the person doing the work, and a review with a real name on it?

The website looks bad on a phone
Most of your visitors, and you will never see it happen — because you check your site on a laptop at your desk, and they see it on a phone on a sofa at nine in the evening.
Open your own site on your phone. Can you read it without pinching to zoom?

You feel embarrassed sending people to it
This costs more than anything else on the list and gets mentioned last, because the hesitation happens in your own head, in the second before you decide to send photos instead of a link.
When someone asks for your website, do you send it gladly, or do you hesitate?
The other fourteen are in the guide, along with what each one costs, why it happens, and side-by-side examples of it done badly and done well.
